Job Description – Essential Functions and Areas of Responsibilities

  1. Preparation/compiling of monthly management accounts
    Assist Compiling of budgets and forecasts for the company
    Managing & maintaining of all accounting processes
    Risk management/financial risk management
    Ensure compliance with authorities
    Maintaining of budgets, costings and forecasts
    Cash Flow projections
    Oversee Vat returns and reconciliations
    Implementing of audit file preparation and savings therewith
    Preparation for Auditors (Preparation of Trial Balance, Audit File with supporting documents)
    Assist in preparing of financial statements for group reporting
    Reconciling of control accounts i.e. salaries, finance charges, depreciation
    Oversee verification of debtors, creditors & stock
    Oversee reconciling of loan accounts, balancing of asset finances and asset depreciation
    Assist with due diligence of acquisitions
    Pastel record keeping from source documents to trial balance
    Internal audits

Competencies and Minimum Requirements:

  1. B.  Comm or similar Financial Degree
    SAICA/SAIPA articles
    Min 5 years’ experience in a Senior Accounting Role
    Experience with Pastel
    Excel – Advanced skills ESSENTIAL
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Excellent understanding and knowledge of accounting principles
    Excellent attention to detail
    Well-balanced individual
    Willing to take initiative to deliver results
    Professional communication skills
    This position may involve travel
