Job Description

Minimum Academic Requirements, Professional Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Qualification in Sales / Marketing (Advantageous)
  • 5 years’ minimum experience (Proven track record in sales and business development)
  • Valid code 08 (B grade or higher) driver’s license
  • Must be Bilingual (Afrikaans and English)

Main Purpose of the job:    To recruit new customers and maintain existing customer portfolios.

Key Performance areas:

  • Business development
  • Recruitment of new customers
  • Increasing customer activity rate through:-
  • Having regular contact with existing customers by visiting their businesses
  • Monitoring customer’s activities, sales and needs
  • Re-activating dormant customers through negotiation and problem solving
  • Assisting the customer with their business, wherever possible
  • Monitoring market information i.e. competitor activities, new business developments and opportunities
  • Doing market research to establish customer needs
  • Acting as an ambassador for the company at all times
  • Giving feedback to the team on problems and opportunities
  • Conducting regular price surveys to establish pricing and promotional information
  • Promoting the company’s corporate image through professional conduct and sound business ethics
  • Distribution of promotional leaflets
  • Calling on customers to take orders
  • Executing deliveries as and when required
  • Conducting presentations to customers and potential clients
  • Communicating of company initiatives to customers via fax, email & telephone
  • Maintaining a sound long term relationship with customers


Good basic salary plus vehicle allowance plus commission structure
