  • Tertiary qualification in Business Studies (Desirable)

 

Introduction

To manage and control all aspects of an operational division in order to maximise profits

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS / OUTPUTS

  1. Corporate and franchise strategy alignment, implementation and management
  2. Divisional objective setting
  3. Market share improvement
  4. Corporate and franchise brand promotion
  5. Financial and credit management
  6. HR-related issue management
  7. Systems results managing

 

1. CORPORATE AND FRANCHISE STRATEGY ALIGNMENT AND MANAGEMENT

  • Provide input into corporate and franchise strategies
  • Ensure a competitive level of franchise member’s operational knowledge
  • Implement operational efficiencies to ensure franchise and corporate strategy

 

2. DIVISIONAL OBJECTIVE SETTING

Set objectives for the division and provide leadership to ensure that the objectives are met:

  • Financial objectives
  • New business targets
  • Project management – store plans, layouts and refurbishments
  • HR objectives
  • Brand building
  • Sales targets
  • Credit management targets

 

3. MARKET SHARE IMPROVEMENT

  • Identify and propose business opportunities (e.g.: new stores and revamps) within the division
  • Ensure marketing and advertising within the franchise and corporate guidelines / strategies
  • Analyse sales, purchases and gross profit data to identify growth opportunities
  • Analyse and effective strategize in regards to store development divisional goals, deadlines, schedules, budgets, need resources and team member coordination
  • Manage, prioritize and problem solved multiple tasks connected to various projects

 

4. CORPORATE AND FRANCHISE BRAND PROMOTION

  • Manage franchise members expectations
  • Manage PR-related issues within corporate guidelines

 

5. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure that the budget for the division is in line with corporate guidelines,
  • Manage all financial aspects of the business
  • Analyse all financial indicators and determine the best strategies for improvement
  • Ensure sound credit management practices

 

6. HR-RELATED ISSUE MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor the development and training of management and staff
  • Coach management
  • Monitor talent management implementation
  • Monitor IR management
  • Ensure a positive / productive culture
