Job Description

We have a vacancy for a Retail Butchery Manager. This role has the following high level minimum characteristic or requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of matric, but a blockman qualification is also preferable
  • At least 5 years Butchery Managerial experience in a retail store.
  • The candidate must have the ability to manage a staff complement of at least 15 persons.
  • Ability to manage a high quality butchery from end to end, including all merchandising, stock management, purchases, production, pricing and admin.
  • Responsible for all levels of waste and shrinkage in the butchery
  • Operating a butchery selling high quality meat and servicing the middle to upper LSM customers with a focus on the gourmet range.
  • Responsible for staff training, leadership, development and staff weekly schedules.
  • Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene, and must be able to complete admin relating to the butchery.
